When shipping DDU to countries outside the US, it is sometimes required to have country-specific taxpayer ID (TIN) numbers associated with the shipment (such as EORI numbers in the UK, RFC or CURP numbers in Mexico, and CPF or CNPJ numbers in Brazil, just as examples). Most shipments will require the (TIN) for the customer, while large orders may require your TIN. Each country has its own customs requirements and limits, and it is the client's responsibility to understand and follow these requirements.*
To have Amplifier include the relevant numbers on your orders for customs to scan, please either enter the order with a shipping method of "special handling" (for manual orders) or update the order shipping method to "special handling" (for orders conveyed through your ecommerce store). This will put the order into an alerted status in our system. Then send us an email at help@amplifier.com with the order number in the subject line and the required tax ID in the body of the email. We will manually add this information to the order. It is important that you email us as soon as possible in order to make sure the shipment goes out with the proper information. You will also need to find a way to have your ecommerce store alert you when orders needing these tax IDs come in, so that you can contact us ASAP.
In addition to the tax ID, please also ensure that your customer's email and phone number are listed in the order info, as these are required by customs.
Additionally, some countries have other tax-related requirements that you may need to plan for. Notably, Australia has annual maximum import amounts beyond which you'll need to obtain a taxpayer id and some shipments into the EU require an IOSS number.
*Consult with your tax attorney or accountant for advise on these topics. Amplifier is providing cursory information to assist with shipping to your customers but we are not experts in the commercial / taxation aspects of shipping internationally.
