Include HTS Codes
Use clear, descriptive item names
Avoid vague or generic descriptions. For example, when setting up an item in Amplifier – do not use a vague term such as “Strap,” use a more specific name like “Bike Strap.” Accurate descriptions help customs officials quickly identify the contents of a shipment. If an item cannot be clearly identified, it may be delayed or returned to Amplifier.
Set your cost value for each item
Within your Amplifier Item Details, be sure to add a value for “Cost.” This information is used for carrier questions that may arise when an order is submitted without any values. Missing or zero-value items can raise concerns during customs review and may result in delays or additional inspection.
Include Country of Origin
Setting an item's country of origin is very important for proper assessment of duties, taxes, tariffs, etc. In today's geo-political environment, this can dramatically impact the amount of taxes you or your customers must pay.
