What is a Kit?

Kits are physical groups of items or components which are assembled and stored for picking. A Kit has its own, unique, SKU that is different from the SKUs of the items or components within the Kit. When items or components are used to create a unit of a Kit, those items or components are consumed and no longer available for fulfillment. This change in On Hand quantity for the items or components is reflected on the Inventory Report.

When a customer purchases a Kit Item, the Order Data conveys a single line for the Kit, and Amplifier picks a single item from the shelf during fulfillment.

Kits are accessed at the top right of the Items page.

The Kits section allows for the Creation and Tracking of Kits and Kit Jobs.

Because Kitting involves fees and inventory consumption, they must always be created and approved by a Client prior to Amplifier beginning the Kitting process.

Kits can sometimes be "decomposed" into their component items at the request of a client. This is also known as "Finished Item Breakdown". The timing and pricing of this is the same as the Kitting timing and pricing.

Sometimes users confuse "Kits" with "Bundles" or "Cases". Make sure you're aware of the options between them: How to decide between a Kit, a Sales Bundle, or a Case Unit of Measure.
